EUGENE—For the second straight month, non-judicial (NOD) foreclosure filings continue to decline in Ada and Canyon counties, according to data released by Gorilla Capital, Idaho’s leader in buying, redeveloping and selling distressed homes.
One hundred twenty-eight NODs were filed in the two counties during February compared to 183 in January and 204 in December 2013. February 2014’s NOD filings are down by 135 compared to the same month last year. In February, 64% of the homes Gorilla purchased in the Boise-area were vacant or “Zombie” homes.
“For most of 2013, foreclosure filings in Ada and Canyon counties were on a rollercoaster, up one month and down the next,” said Ryan Strasshofer, Gorilla’s Northwest Regional President. “The Boise housing market has been healing at a healthy rate over the last year. We anticipate the filings to continue to roller coaster in the months ahead, but still continue toward recovery.”
