EUGENE—After leveling-out in March, preceded by three months of decline, non-judicial (NOD) foreclosure filings took another dip in Ada and Canyon counties in April, according to Gorilla Capital, Idaho’s leader in buying, redeveloping and selling distressed homes.
There were a total of 104 NODs filed in the two counties last month compared to 147 in March, 119 in February, 121 in January, and 204 in December 2013. Fifty-three NODs were filed in Ada County while 51 were filed in Canyon County. In April 83% of the homes purchased in the two counties were vacant ‘Zombie” homes compared to March, 43% and February 64%.
“Year to date there are 45% fewer foreclosure filings than at the same time in 2013,” said Ryan Strasshofer, Gorilla’s Northwest Regional President. “After a stabile March, the decrease in foreclosures for April is another sign the Boise housing marketed is headed in a positive direction.”
