FORECLOSURE FILINGS STAY CONSISTENT IN ADA & TWIN FALLS COUNTIES

Canyon County Experiences 32% Decrease

EUGENE, OR Gorilla Capital reports that foreclosures in April for notice of default (NOD) in Ada and Twin Falls counties stayed about the same as compared to March, but Canyon County experienced a significant decrease in filings for the month.

In Ada County, there were 165 NODs filed in April.  The same number were filed in the previous month. Twin Falls County had 37 NOD filings in April as compared to 38 in March.

Canyon County registered a 32% decrease in NOD filings from 98 in March to 74 in April.

“Until April, NOD filings have increased one month and decreased the next in these counties since Gorilla started tracking their filings in fall 2012,” said Ryan Strasshofer of Gorilla Capital. “Until the employment situation improves, history tells us we can expect the number of foreclosure filings to continue to yo-yo from better one month to comparatively worse the next.”

** Since June 2009, Gorilla Capital operates in Ada, Canyon, Kootenai, Bonner, Elmore, and Twin Falls Counties. The numbers of NOD filings were provided to Gorilla Capital by CoreLogic and County Clerk Recorders, and reflect filings as of May 21, 2013. Due to lag times in filings, additional NODs may be filed after this date.
