Investor Spotlight – Ira Murray, CBF Holdings, LLC

Ira Murray, along with his wife Lisa, of CBF Holdings, LLC purchased their first Gorilla Capital home in September of 2015. The funding relationship is off to a great start with their first project earning a great return and their second project receiving immediate offers. Operating in Brevard County in Florida, Ira and Lisa are very kind-hearted and humble people who have had a lot of real estate success. We’re excited to highlight one of our favorite investors!

Do you have any special talents?  
I sing

What team(s) do you root for and why?  
Miami Dolphins because I liked Dan Marino, Mark Clayton, and Mark Duper – University of Miami because its all about the “U” – Atlanta Braves because of Henry Louis “Hank” Aaron

What’s the best vacation you’ve ever taken?  
Western Caribbean cruise with my wife and 3 kids in 2003 

How did you get into fix and flip investing?  
As you know my wife Lisa is the broker of Murray Realty of Brevard Inc. and we were the selling agent for a 1st time home buyer that purchased a flip property.  We were very intrigued on the profit that was made on the home.  We researched how much the investor paid for the property and noticed the large profit margin within such a short period of  time.  I started teaching myself how to search and bid for properties at the courthouse step.  Research took about a year, following and tracking properties that were purchased at the county auction and resold on the mls after rehab.   

What are your professional goals for the next five years?  
To be one of the top investors across the state of Florida, and owning at least 25 single family rental properties.

What advice do you have for young people entering the industry?  
Make sure that you make relationships with  Real Estate professionals, title companies, General contractors, and Lenders

What kind of impact do you believe you have on your community?  
The impact that we have made in our community is assisting 1st time home buyers purchase homes that will not necessarily be one and “Making Dreams a Reality” for them

Why do you choose funding from Gorilla Capital over other sources?  
After speaking with Evan Wiesner I had a good feeling.  Gorilla Capital has done exactly what they said they were going to do and the terms are fair.  Amy Davis is great to work with and just a phone call away.
