JANUARY BRINGS TRIPLE DIGIT FORECLOSURE FILINGS TO ADA & CANYON COUNTIES

Feb 13 2015

EUGENE, Ore.— For the first time since July 2014, total foreclosures filed in Ada and Canyon counties tallied 100 in January, after holding steady at between 70 and 90 filings each month during the last five months of last year, according to Gorilla Capital, Idaho’s leader in buying, redeveloping and selling distressed homes.

In Ada County, 64 foreclosures were filed. The most since 60 were filed last August. Thirty-six foreclosures were filed in Canyon County which is consistent with the previous five-months when filings ranged from 36 to 42.

“While foreclosure filings in January increased in Ada and Canyon counties, the housing market continues to heal with a steadily, stronger economy and favorable interest rates,” said Richard Cardenas, Gorilla’s Regional President. It’s typical for filings to increase in the first quarter of the year, and then settle down again.”
